IV - ABOUT ALLAN MONTAINE PHOTOGRAPHY
Allan Montaine has been a professional assignment, stock and fine art photographer for over 15 years. Self taught in the main, he has taken technical courses in lighting and technique from private instructors and at Parsons/New School in New York City. Through the years he has been involved in assignment work for Fortune 500 corporations, public relations firms, advertising agencies, architectural firms and travel-tourism related clients.
Images are also marketed around the world by select international stock agencies including; Gettyimages, Alamy, Ovoworks and Lonely Planet Images in color and black & white.
Fine art work has been seen on exhibition at the Keane-Mason Gallery on 57th Street NYC in three group shows and at the Musavi Art Center in Soho. Images of China were on exhibition at EMS Imports Asian Gallery and retail store in New York in 2001. In 2004, a selection of international landscapes in color and a series of details of vintage cars in bw were in exhibition at the Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa Monica, CA.
In 2001 an exhibition of color and bw images of China and the U.S. West and Southwest were on view in the private offices of Young & Rubicam Advertising in NY. In 2007 two exhibitions of Allan's work were on view at the Art on the Boulevard gallery in Vancouver, WA and a series of iconic New York City images could be seen at the Schotland Gallery in Flemington, NJ.
Fine art photographs are also in private and corporate collections including: Credit Suisse First Boston, Bank of Ireland, Reuters News Service, Bear Stearns, BP North America, Emigrant Savings Bank, Hearst Argyle Corp., U.S. Embassies in Africa and Eastern Europe throught the U.S. State Department.
Posters of Mr. Montaine's work are distributed in Europe and a fine art calendar of NYC in bw was produced for 2006.
A black and white 8.5 foot mural of NYC was created for NYCERS (New York City Employee Retirement Service) in 2001 to hang in their reception area.
Awards include: Certificate of Achievement by the Association of Graphic Arts and the Small Business Growth Award by the Manhattan International Development Corp., a division of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Montaine's work is represented by the Schotland Gallery in Flemington, NJ. A past member of the Art Director's Club of New York and of the Carriage Barn Art Center-New Cannan, CT, a previous Vice President of the American Society of Picture Professionals and a past member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce.
V - Fine Art Prints
Specifications: All prints come in numbered limited editions signed by the photographer. A certificate of authenticity is provided. Printing is produced on Hahnemulhe Fine Art, Cotton Rag Paper, Pearl Finish or similar. Prints are made on an Epson printer with archival pigment inks.
